Automotive · Platform Modernization
One platform replaced a custom build for every client
The operator
A marketing technology platform served automotive service and parts departments with an SMS-based AI assistant. The operator understood dealership fixed operations in detail, including why a missed parts inquiry is a lost sale rather than a lost message.
What stood in the way
Every new client required a bespoke assistant build. Onboarding consumed engineering time the company needed for product work, and growth was limited by the number of custom builds the team could carry at once.
Why the obvious fix would have failed
Adding engineers would have scaled the cost of the problem rather than removing it. Buying a general-purpose chatbot product would have lost the dealership-specific judgment that made the assistant useful in the first place.
What changed the approach
The differences between clients were configuration, not logic. Once the operator's routing rules and exception handling were captured explicitly, one parameterized system could serve every dealership without new code.
What Was Built
The system
A unified, parameterized assistant architecture replacing per-client builds
A configuration and client-context engine driving behavior from data rather than code
Multi-agent routing with intent-specific handling and shared conversational memory
Automated onboarding and compliance workflows
Release, versioning, and observability discipline suited to a multi-tenant platform
System architecture
Inbound SMS Customers
Automotive end users interacting via SMS
Message Buffering & Intelligent Routing
Wait-window batching + reliability control
Multi-Agent AI Orchestration
- ▪Specialized intent agents
- ▪Programmatic routing
- ▪Context-aware response logic
Configuration & Client Context Engine
Parameterized architecture eliminates per-client builds
CRM & Data Synchronization
- ▪GoHighLevel integration
- ▪Bidirectional record sync
- ▪Structured outcome storage
Platform consolidation enabled scalable growth without linear engineering overhead.
The outcome
What changed for the business.
Client onboarding moved from an engineering task to an operations task
New clients could be added without adding engineering capacity
Support burden shifted from per-client debugging to platform monitoring
How it holds up
- Per-client code paths eliminated in favor of a single configurable platform
- Message buffering and routing reliability improved under concurrent load
- Deployment moved from ad hoc changes to a controlled release process
On the business result
The architecture supported a materially larger client base without matching growth in engineering cost. Exact counts and timings are pending verification before publication.
